A co-worker and I were talking the other day and I told her that I was getting ready to go on a diet and she told me that I don't need to do that just drink 4oz of vinegar and 4oz of water a day and the weight will come off. Is this true and if so is this healthy?
Will drinking vinegar water everyday help me loose weight?
Vinegar is a diuretic. Basically it makes you pee more and you lose some water weight out of your body. It's not a good long-term solution and it can dehydrate you.
Reply:No, it's good for the short-term weight loss, but usually it bounces right back.
Reply:Well, this practice has been in effect in Europe for the past 20 yrs. It does help with weight loss but the biggest impact it has, which scientist are baffled but can't disagree with the findings, been the fact it reduces cellolite. The drinking of Vinegar and Water is healthy but it is an acquired taste. So, give it a try if it works then good luck; if it doesn't you at least know you didn't spend money on things that truly don't work.
Good luck!
Reply:The only way to lose weight for real and keep it off is a sensible diet and consistant exercise
Reply:I have heard the same thing as you but never tried it. I would take the advise of the first person who responded. Don't try it, it will just dehydrate you.
Reply:There is no scientific evidence to support that idea. The only real way to lose weight is to eat healthy food (like vegetables, foods with lots of protein, and fruit), cut back on drinking alcohol, and exercise (weight training AND cardio). Unless you do those things you will not be successful with your diet OR you will be successful but it wont last for very long.
Good luck!
