im looking for an old friend, and im trying to find them online or info about them. with all the online scams using credit info, i'd rather see if there is a different way to check if they are still living, if they are or in jail or what. just general information online?

Try posting through that person's local www.craigslist.org Locate the city of that person, and under the section MISSED ENCOUNTERS or WANTED
You might also try to find this person under www.classmates.com if you know the high school last attended by this person.
Also try to find this person through their local newspaper, if you know of their last known town/city.
