Does anyone have an Idea for the storyline of a play? HELP PLZ?

I have this project at school where I have to write a play, but I'm having trouble (Writers block?) comming up with a storyline for it. So just state an Idea that you have for the storyline of a play.

A lady-in-waiting in love with her mistress's master. As the secret love affair looms ,the mistress gets more suspicious
Reply:It's set in 19th century Paris.The story begins with two brothers.They come from a rich family (The Ackland's),the older brother (Derek) is a successful Banker and is loved by the family. He is the exact opposite of his younger brother (Jack) who has abandoned his family for a life of bohemian living. He is a writer with writer's block. Despite the fact that the family favors Derek, Jack and Derek still have a strong friendship, at the same time however they envy qualities the other one possesses:Jack is jealous of his brother's money and the fact that he can buy any women he wants with shiny things and the life he can promise,as well as his prominent family position. Derek however feels a deep sense of jealous about Jacks creativity (the creativity that jack posses es when he can write) ,Jack's good looks and the fact that Jack is brave enough to separate from the family and there money. During Jack's writer's block he moves to the more bohemian Montmartre part of paris.One night he and his brother decide to go to the famous theater Théâtre de la Gaîté-Montparnasse where they see the girl that will cause both joy and destruction in their lives:Matilda.Matilda is the beautiful young actress (15,the brothers are Jack:19 and Derek-24). She came from a once grand family that has fallen greatly.She was left on a street at the age of 6 with her little sister (Ava, who dies in the course of this play Ava is 14). Her abusive man about town father abandons the family in hopes of proffiting from a bussiness tip a friend gave him. He never is heard from again (leaving the possibily to bring him back). Her mother who works endlessly to raise her children in hopes of being able to marry them off into a rich family based on what their name was in time past, is killed by her husband's debters (the mothers name is Malena). The two girls are sold into prostition to pay the debts of their father,in a turn of fate the madame takes pitty on them and throws them on the street with a piece of paper with an address on it.The girls travel to the address where they are raised by a group of retired prostitutes who show them the underworld of paris:The Bomemain world. When Matlilda see's her first play at the local theater "La grande tente" she decides to join the young playwright (Harry) and persue an acting career in the Vendôme area of paris.Her sister being left to live her own life.The beautiful Matilda quickly becomes the senstion of Paris, eventually leaving Harry for a collection of men and a life of extravagance,Matilda quickly learns the ways of the world and the importance of getting to the top. With her beauty,wit,cunning, and acting skills she gets to where she is on the stage of Théâtre de la Gaîté-Montparnasse.Ava who is now 14 has just reappeared in Matilda's life. Ava who knocks on her sister's door on an incredibly rainy night is soaking wet in a dress that is undoubtly beautiful (and makes no sense for the occasion) holding a baby.She is in the theater that night in her sister's box..............................





You pick up form there. There are plenty of loos end for you to tie. And you have several choices:you can choose one character to do a life story on,you can tie the storeis together, or simply use this all for insperation.This is a plot that I'm using right now to write a book (nothing big just for fun!).You can do what you want with it since our endings and directions and dialogue will be very different! Please forgive spelling and grammar I just don't want to go over it all and the spell checker isn't working, i hope this helps you out of you writers block!
Reply:I've wrote plenty of stories that might be useful in a play...but it depends on what you are into. You have to decide what interests you. Is it a commedy? Is it a thriller, sci-fi, romance...etc. Trust me, I know writers block, I've been working on my story for...5 yrs now!! I just want to erase it all, but I know once I do that, Im screwed! lol. I could give you some ideas, so email me if you want to :) But try and figure it out on your own, you'll feel so much better about it when it's done, if you've done it on your own. You could even turn an event in your real life into a play...like for instance, did your best friend cheat on her boyfriend with your ex-boyfriend...etc...etc...pick something interesting, and go from there, but be forewarned when doing something like that, you should always get the permission of the person you're using or change up the scenes and NAMES a little bit, otherwise you're likely to have a fued on your hands!
